Announcements And Reminders
Send immediate announcements, schedule reminders, use merge fields, attach rosters, and review delivery history.
Who uses it
Event leads and managers
Where it lives
Event Workbench > Announcements
Goal
Event communication is sent intentionally and leaves a delivery trail.
Before You Start
- An event with a channel or selected destinations.
- Scheduling manage permission.
Steps
1
Choose send now or scheduled
Send-now announcements fire immediately. Scheduled reminders send before the event based on the offset.
2
Use destinations deliberately
Messages can target the event channel, selected channel, role pings, and DMs by signup status.
3
Insert merge fields
Use current event fields and roster output so messages stay accurate as event data changes.
4
Check delivery history
Delivery history shows successes, partial sends, and failures. Retry controls can come later.
Launch Checklist
- The message preview has the expected merge fields.
- Roster attachment is intentional.
- Delivery history records the attempt.
Common Pitfalls
- Sending DMs to the wrong signup status group.
- Forgetting that cancellation uses the same notification-style destination model.
