Billing and Access Codes

Check your guild's plan, start or manage a subscription, and redeem an access code from the dashboard or Discord.

Before You Start

  • Manage Server permission in Discord, since billing changes require guild-admin access.
  • GearCheck installed in the server you're managing.
  • An access code, if you're redeeming one instead of paying.

Steps

  1. Check the current plan

    Open Dashboard > Billing to see your server's plan: Free, a trial, Pro until a date, Pro paid monthly, or Pro with no end date. When the plan ends, the page says when.

  2. Start a checkout

    Pick Monthly or a prepaid length, accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, then choose Continue to checkout to go to Stripe. Monthly renews until you cancel; 3 months, 6 months and 1 year are paid once and run for that long.

  3. Add time or open receipts

    Receipts and billing opens Stripe, where you can see receipts, update payment details or cancel a monthly plan. On a prepaid plan, Add time opens 14 days before the end, and the days you buy are added to the end you already have, never reset.

  4. Redeem an access code

    Enter the code under Access code on the Billing page, or run /admin redeem in Discord. Both apply the code the same way. A code that would cost you paid time is refused and stays unspent.

  5. Know what the code buys you

    A code can carry a duration or be permanent. Once a timed code runs out, the server drops back to Free until someone redeems another code or buys a plan. An invalid, already-used or expired code is refused with the reason, and a refused code is not spent.

  6. Get help when a code won't redeem

    If a code fails and you're sure it's right, don't keep guessing. Ask in GearCheck's Support Discord and staff there can look up the code and sort it out.

Check It Worked

  • The Billing page shows the tier and status you expect.
  • Staff who manage billing have Manage Server permission in Discord.
  • An access code redeemed successfully, or checkout completed and the tier updated.
  • Everyone involved knows whether the current access has a duration, so the plan won't quietly drop without warning.

Common Pitfalls

  • Assuming a redeemed code is permanent without checking whether it carries a duration.
  • Retrying a code that's already been used instead of double-checking for a typo first.
  • Forgetting that both the dashboard redeem form and /admin redeem need Manage Server permission, not just any staff role.
