Goal
Staff know what plan a guild is on, how to change it, and how to redeem an access code when one comes their way.
Before You Start
- Manage Server permission in Discord, since billing changes require guild-admin access.
- GearCheck installed in the server you're managing.
- An access code, if you're redeeming one instead of paying.
Steps
Check the current plan
Open Dashboard > Billing to see your guild's tier, when it renews or expires, and whether it's tied to a Stripe subscription or an access code.
Start a checkout
Pick a plan and accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, and GearCheck sends you to Stripe Checkout. The monthly plan renews on its own; the 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year plans are one-time purchases that expire at the end of their term.
Manage an active subscription
If your guild has an active monthly subscription, use Manage Subscription to open the billing portal, where you can update payment details or cancel.
Redeem an access code
Enter the code under Redeem Code on the Billing page, or run /admin redeem in Discord. Both apply the code's tier to your guild the same way.
Know what the code buys you
A code can carry a duration or be permanent. Once a timed code runs out, the guild drops back to Free until someone redeems another code or starts a paid plan. An invalid, already-used, or expired code fails cleanly with a message explaining why.
Get help when a code won't redeem
If a code fails and you're sure it's right, don't keep guessing. Ask in GearCheck's Support Discord and staff there can look up the code and sort it out.
Launch Checklist
- The Billing page shows the tier and status you expect.
- Staff who manage billing have Manage Server permission in Discord.
- An access code redeemed successfully, or checkout completed and the tier updated.
- Everyone involved knows whether the current access has a duration, so the plan won't quietly drop without warning.
Common Pitfalls
- Assuming a redeemed code is permanent without checking whether it carries a duration.
- Retrying a code that's already been used instead of double-checking for a typo first.
- Forgetting that both the dashboard redeem form and /admin redeem need Manage Server permission, not just any staff role.
