Goal
A server configured with the right language, staff access, channels, roles, evidence defaults, modules, and first test flow.
Before You Start
- Bot invited to the server.
- Manage Server or GearCheck manager access.
- Discord roles and channels ready to connect.
Steps
Use readiness as the map
Start with the setup readiness panel. Warnings are not meant to shame the guild; they tell you which configuration piece is missing before members hit it.
Set language and staff access early
Choose dashboard, bot, game-data, and OCR language defaults. Then define who can manage builds, moderation, analytics, settings, and optional modules.
Connect channels and roles
Configure GearCheck channels, support destinations, audit destinations, and verified roles. Confirm Discord hierarchy and permissions before testing.
Pick the first pack path
Install a starter/template pack where available or create the first pack manually. Choose evidence defaults before members run checks.
Run a launch test
Use a real Discord thread and a staff member as the test user. Confirm build selection, evidence instructions, scoring, review behavior, role assignment, and support fallback.
Launch Checklist
- Setup progress saves if you leave and return.
- Warnings map to a specific missing configuration.
- At least one real verification flow works end to end.
- Staff know where to go after setup: builds, verifications, settings, notifications, or docs.
Common Pitfalls
- Skipping permissions and discovering role assignment is broken later.
- Choosing a pack/evidence source before deciding how members will submit proof.
- Treating setup completion as permanent even after Discord roles/channels change.
