What a Discord gear check bot does

A gear check bot answers the question you ask before every event: is this member running the build we asked for? A member submits their gear in a Discord thread, the bot scores it against your build, and staff get a pass, a review or a list of what is missing.

How a gear check runs

  1. You define the build once.

    Sets, slots, traits, skills and the rest, per role or trial, in a pack you own.

  2. A member submits evidence.

    In Discord: a character export pasted in, or gear screenshots.

  3. The bot reads and scores it.

    A score with a per-line breakdown: matched, missing, needs a look.

  4. Staff review and decide.

    Clear passes resolve themselves. The fuzzy ones go to a person.

What it reads, game by game

The walkthrough above uses ESO terms because ESO is the worked example. Each supported game has its own evidence path:

Where it fits with your other bots

Gear checks and scheduling are different jobs, and GearCheck does both. Every plan includes events with per-role signup slots, readiness rosters and a calendar feed; the Free plan runs up to 3 active events at a time and Pro removes the cap. Already on another event bot? What it doesn't do

It isn't a parse checker. It reads the build a member wears, not their DPS on a log.

It isn't an official ESO or ZeniMax product. It is an independent community bot.

It doesn't grade anyone in public. Results go to your staff, not a leaderboard.

Is it free?
Yes. The Free plan includes gear checks, the build editor, public requirements pages, and the verified role on a pass. Some features have allowances: 10 review resolutions a month, 5 RaidHelper readiness reports a month, up to 3 active events, and up to 12 custom builds. Pro removes the caps. See pricing
Which games work today?
Elder Scrolls Online and New World. Each game is read from its own manifest, so a new game arrives when it is ready.
Do members need an addon?
For the cleanest ESO checks, yes: CharacterMarkdown, a free in-game addon. Members without it upload screenshots instead.
What happens to submitted screenshots?
The bot processes the evidence a member submits and the Discord IDs needed to run the check. Results are visible to your staff. The privacy page has the full write-up.
